Construction of Substations
At ABCONTROL we design, build, and expand facilities for industrial and commercial environments
At ABCONTROL we design and execute electrical and civil infrastructure construction projects for all productive sectors: energy, mining, light industry, heavy industry, manufacturing and the commercial sector.
With more than 20 years of experience, our team integrates engineering, procurement and execution to deliver reliable, efficient and safe projects, adhering to the most stringent standards in the sector.
Our goal is clear: to ensure operational continuity and durable results through solutions that optimize time, costs, and resources.
What do we do in substation construction?
We support our clients from project conception through to commissioning, addressing every technical and regulatory requirement.
We handle the procedures with the National Electric System bodies (CFE, CENACE), the development of detailed engineering, the procurement of materials, field supervision, and the comprehensive execution of electrical or civil works.

Consulting
From the conceptualization and design of the project. We accompany our clients from the earliest stages, ensuring that every technical and economic decision is backed by a comprehensive engineering analysis.
CFE / CENACE Management
We handle the administrative procedures and liaise with the relevant authorities, ensuring compliance with the guidelines for interconnection and safe operation.
Development
We design and build to national and international standards, ensuring electrical safety, efficiency, and reliability in every installation.
Substation construction
We carry out large-scale electrical projects with specialized personnel, ensuring quality, continuity, and compliance in every delivery.
Comprehensive solutions
We offer turnkey projects, combining engineering, procurement and construction to deliver results that are ready to operate.
Construction supervision and control
We implement LEAN methodologies and digital tools that enable our clients to visualize the project's progress, optimize resources, and guarantee transparency throughout the execution.

Electrical Construction and Industrial Infrastructure
We undertake highly complex electrical and civil works: substations, transmission lines, low- and medium-voltage systems, and industrial networks. Our experience guarantees safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
Turnkey engineering projects
We develop projects from the ground up, including drawing design, coordination with the electrical grid administrator and responsible party, preparation of the bill of quantities and project budget, equipment and material procurement, as well as construction, installation, and commissioning.
Your project and construction work will be a success thanks to our expert team with more than 20 years of experience, our shared tracking tools that ensure proper execution and continuity, and effective information management.
High-voltage substations
We design and build outdoor AIS substations, indoor substations, and GIS gas-insulated substations for use in step-down applications for load centers, step-up applications for power generation plants, and switching or maneuvering applications for connection to the National Electric System (SEN).
As part of this service, we have the knowledge and experience to manage all required procedures with both CENACE and CFE for projects that require connection or interconnection to the SEN, and we support our clients throughout this process.
Power transmission lines (69 – 400 kV)
We design, build, and expand high-voltage transmission lines in compliance with applicable standards, both for private use and for connection or interconnection to the National Electric System (SEN).
In these projects, route feasibility studies, permit acquisition, and coordination with CENACE and CFE, when applicable, are of great importance.
Medium-voltage distribution lines (4.16 – 34.5 kV)
We design, build, and expand medium-voltage networks in compliance with applicable standards, both for private use and for connection or interconnection to the National Electric System (SEN).
In these projects, route feasibility studies, permit acquisition, and coordination with CENACE and CFE, when applicable, are of great importance.
Low-voltage systems
We design, build, and expand low-voltage electrical installations, including distribution switchboards, conductor lines, power outlets, and protection systems for industrial, commercial, and residential facilities.
We always aim to contribute to the optimal use of energy through efficient systems, complying with applicable standards and regulations, while making installations scalable and reliable.

Frequently Asked Questions about SC
Can they integrate different protection brands?
Yes. We integrate relays, UTRs, and protection equipment from brands such as GE, SEL, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, among others. We adapt each project to the client’s technical, budgetary, or regulatory requirements, without compromising the interoperability of the system.
Do you also provide support and maintenance?
Yes. We offer specialized technical support, preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as service policies that ensure the system’s operational continuity over time. We also provide remote or on-site assistance depending on the required level of service.
Can you modernize an existing substation?
Sure. We perform diagnostics and modernization without the need to replace the entire infrastructure. We integrate new technologies such as SCADA, UTRs, PMUs, or digital relays into existing installations, improving their performance without interrupting operation.
What regulatory standards do your SAS systems comply with?
We work in accordance with IEC 61850, IEEE, CFE V6700-62, and other national and international standards. This ensures compatibility with CFE specifications and those of private companies, as well as the technical validation of each installed component.
What is the typical delivery time for a SAS system?
Depending on the scope of the project, our SAS systems are delivered under defined schemes that include engineering, manufacturing, FAT, installation, and commissioning. We maintain clear schedules and meet turnkey, ready-to-operate deliveries.
